You have a UTI. You've texted Cody, been diagnosed, and your prescription is on its way. Now: how do you actually get your medication? CodyMD gives you two paths — pharmacy pickup or hand delivery to your door. Here's how each works and when one makes more sense than the other.

    Option 1: pharmacy pickup

This is the default and fastest path. When your CodyMD physician sends your prescription electronically, you choose the pharmacy — any chain or independent that accepts e-prescriptions (Walgreens, CVS, Rite Aid, Costco, your local independent pharmacy). Most chain pharmacies fill e-scripts within 30–60 minutes during business hours.

Pharmacy pickup makes sense when: you're near a pharmacy, you're mobile and not incapacitated by symptoms, you want the absolute fastest time from diagnosis to medication in hand, or you need to pick up other items anyway.

    Option 2: hand delivery

In select markets, CodyMD offers hand delivery — your medication comes to you. CodyMD coordinates with a delivery partner pharmacy. Your prescription is filled, packaged in original pharmacy packaging (sealed, labeled, tamper-evident), and delivered to the address you provide. You receive tracking updates by text so you know when to expect it.

Hand delivery makes sense when: you're at home and don't want to leave while feeling miserable, it's late at night or early morning and driving to a pharmacy is impractical, you don't have a car or reliable transportation, or you're caring for children and can't easily leave the house.

    Same-day delivery in select markets

Delivery availability and timing depend on your location and when you complete your visit. In markets where same-day delivery is available, prescriptions sent before the pharmacy partner's daily cutoff typically arrive within a few hours. CodyMD is expanding delivery coverage — when you start your visit, the system will show you which options are available at your address.

    Comfort kit delivery

If you opt for the UTI Comfort Kit (prescription antibiotic + phenazopyridine pain relief + D-mannose preventive), everything arrives together. No separate trips, no pharmacy aisle guessing. The kit is assembled by the partner pharmacy and delivered as a single package.

You shouldn't have to drive to the pharmacy while you're in pain

That's the principle behind offering delivery alongside pickup. A UTI is acutely uncomfortable — the burning, the urgency, the constant feeling of needing to go. Adding a car trip to a pharmacy on top of that is an unnecessary burden when the alternative is having medication brought to your door. CodyMD built delivery into the workflow because the whole point is to remove friction between you and feeling better.

Text Cody. Get diagnosed. Choose pickup or delivery. That's it.
