Out of your medication? Get a 1-Hour Refill.

By David Sanders, MD3 min read

Out of a medication you already take? Tell Cody what you take, pick any pharmacy, one of Cody's doctor teammates hops on in the same chat, and your 1-Hour Refill is at the pharmacy within the hour. $49, held on your card and charged when your prescription is sent. No prescription, no charge.

    Tell Cody what you take

I'll tell you how I ended up here, because it's probably how you did.

Four sertraline left. 8 o'clock on a Tuesday. Two voicemails and a portal message to my prescriber, going on two weeks. The pharmacy says "we've faxed the request" like that's a plan. Everybody in that chain is a decent person and none of them is going to fix this tonight.

So here's what I do now, and what I tell my sister, my neighbor, and the group chat.

    How a CodyMD refill works

    1. Tell Cody what you take. Drug, dose, how you take it, and the pharmacy you want. Snap the bottle label if that's faster. About five minutes.
    2. One of Cody's doctor teammates hops on in the same chat. A real doctor, licensed in your state, asks anything they need to and, if it's safe to refill, prescribes right there.
    3. Pick it up. Any pharmacy you choose, within the hour. Or turn on Auto-delivery and every 90-day supply after this one comes to your door.

That's it. No appointment. No waiting room. No "the next available is a week from Thursday."

    What CodyMD can refill

Most maintenance medications: blood pressure (lisinopril, losartan, amlodipine), cholesterol (atorvastatin, rosuvastatin), thyroid (levothyroxine), diabetes (metformin, glipizide), antidepressants (sertraline, escitalopram, fluoxetine, bupropion, duloxetine), inhalers, acid reducers, allergy meds, birth control.

What CodyMD won't refill: controlled medications (ADHD stimulants, Xanax-type anxiety meds, opioids, sleep meds like Ambien). That's the only exclusion. If that's you, Cody will tell you fast instead of taking your money.

"Do I need my old doctor to sign off?"

No. Tell us what you take and why. If a blood test is needed first (thyroid medication usually is), we order it, same day.

    What it costs

$49 for the 1-Hour Refill. That's the number. No insurance, no copay math, no surprise bill in six weeks. It includes the CodyMD Discount Card for the pharmacy, 14 days of follow-up with Cody, and the guarantee: $49 is held on your card and charged when your prescription is sent; not satisfied, tell Cody within 14 days and it's refunded in full.

Then fix it for good. Auto-delivery mails each 90-day supply of your medication to your door, refills and renewals included, with nothing to pay today; you're charged the day a box ships, and you can stop any time before the next one. If you take more than one medication, CodyMD Plus is $99 a year: Free Med Refills (the refill visits are free; the medication is still paid separately), free shipping on every delivery, and Member Pricing. I did the math after my second $49. You will too.

    Why I trust it

Because it's doctors. CodyMD is doctor-owned, a doctor writes every prescription, and the whole thing is built around the idea that you shouldn't need to beg for a medication you've taken for three years. Cody listens. Doctors prescribe. And your card isn't charged until your prescription is sent.

    FAQ (FAQPage schema)

How fast is a 1-Hour Refill, really? One hour, 7 AM to 7 PM Pacific. Order after 7 PM and Cody's doctor teammate sends it first thing in the morning, at your pharmacy by 9 AM.

Can I get a refill without seeing a doctor? You won't see one on video, but Cody's doctor teammate hops on in the same chat and writes the prescription. That's what makes it a real refill and not a workaround.

What if I've run out completely? Say so. CodyMD sends a few days' worth right away. See Emergency prescription refill.

Does CodyMD take insurance? Not for the visit: $49 flat. The medication itself bills to your pharmacy insurance as always, and the CodyMD Discount Card is included for when it beats your copay.

Can CodyMD become my regular prescriber? Yes. Turn on Auto-delivery for a medication and Cody's team handles every refill and renewal from then on, with 90-day supplies mailed to your door.
